In addition to this Ian has toured with workshops as a freelancer across the UK to; schools, theatres and community venues. Drawing on his experience in workshop production as an education resource AMA Theatre are pleased to have Ian at the helm for a variety of educational workshops.

We hope you will find the programme invaluable whether you are a school, drama group or youth club and we look forward to working with you.”

The aim of all the workshops is to understand not just the basic theme of the topic examined but to also understand human relationships and actions derived from given situations.

Why do certain people behave in the way they do?

What events in their life have led to the reasoning of their actions today?

All the workshops are explored through modern concepts in order to make the plots up to date and encourage students to utilise their own experiences and understandings to build and create the narrative. The aim of the workshops is not simply for students to gain an understanding of the theme or plot but also to explore modern issues in relation to the theme such as racism, bullying, self-awareness and self-expression.

All our workshops are for KEY STAGE 1 & 2 and are explored through modern concepts in order to make the plots up to date and encourage students to utilise their own experiences and understandings to build and create the narrative. The aim of the workshops is not simply for students to gain an understanding of the theme or plot but also to explore modern issues in relation to the theme such as racism, bullying, self-awareness and self-expression.

The workshops are led by two workshop leaders and each session lasts for two hours, although this can be adapted to requirements. We also provide props, parts of costume, masks, musical instruments and sound system which become tools the students use to create the environment of the given piece. Each workshop comes with follow-up study notes and fact sheets. We have a brochure for each workshop topic giving in-depth details of the given workshop together with cost details. Simply email us for a copy.
